The reason for this is that, because manufacturing tollerences of up to 2% exist in the size specification of tyres, different brands and tread patterns of tyres will have slighgtly different circumference lengths for the same sized tyre. In other words a Dunlop 205/55/16W will probably be a slightly different size to a 205/55/16W Bridgestone.

It has always been a key concern of the management of Fleet Mobile Tyres Ltd., (aka "etyres", headquartered in Cambridge) that constant changes in the tyres and batteries industries were impossible for the average consumer to keep up with.

"We are a customer-centric business," said Katherine of the service team, "and one of our key frustrations has always been that we have to listen to customers explain why they were dissatisfied with other companies before they found us." She was particularly emphatic (we've all seen it numerous times in the office here!), that customers should have immediate access to information that will help them make informed decisions.
